I've been in the Travel Industry for 15 years now and seen quite a bit of the world but Zanzibar made me to fall in love with Africa. Even staying in South Africa one does not really realise what Africa is all about until you visit countries like Zanzibar and Malawi.
Zanzibari people must be the friendliest I've ever met. 80% of their income comes from tourism and one can therefore expect that they would be friendly to all tourist. Crime is nearly non-existing with only some petty crimes from time to time.

I Agree. Visited Zanzibar in october and had a ball of a time! I will surely go there again
